Over the past few weeks, Year 4 have been practising their singing ready for their big moment when they go to perform at the Victoria Hall as part of "The Big Sing".
They have been working hard to learn all of the songs with Miss Wilson, Mr Obada and Mr Anderson.
We can't wait to see them perform! π΅πΆπ€

Year 4 have been investigating area and perimeter.
To introduce our topic, Miss Wilson and Mrs Khan drew some 2D shapes for the children to measure.
After this, the children then drew each other some polygons and had to work out the perimeter of each other's shape. What a wonderful introduction to our new unit. There are more photos in our album.

Year 4 have had lots of fun in science this week!
As part of our learning about the digestive system, we recreated the process in class. We used things like biscuits, sandwich bags and tights to show how our body processes food!

Yearβ―4 have kicked off the summer term in fantastic fashion!
To launch our new topic, we played music that ties in closely with the class text. The children were invited to close their eyes, picture what they see, imagine where the story might be set and guess what it could be about. Then they turned those ideas into artwork, and the results were truly beautiful! There are more pictures in our photo album.

Year 4 had the pleasure of participating in a history workshop delivered by Adam, all about the Tudors. It's safe to say, the children (and grown ups) loved it! The children took part in many activities throughout the day such as re-enacting the Battle of Bosworth, trying on lots of Tudor clothing, playing games, becoming architects and even some archery! βTake a look in our photo album to see some more pictures.

Year 4 have been producing some fantastic artwork. We have been working with Letting in the Light, an arts organisation that blends art work and social action. Our project is aimed at making Shelton more eco-friendly, supporting our local community and looking after our environment! There are more photos in our photo album.

Year 4 were lucky enough to go on an outdoor adventure to the Wolseley Centre as part of an ongoing art project. They got stuck in creating bird feeders, bug hotels and even built dens which were then tested by the grown ups putting some water on them! ππͺ΅π³

Year 4 have had a great start to their art week! We have been using chocolates to create observational drawings. We used different shading techniques to represent light and shadow.
There are more photos of the fabulous artwork in the photo album.

Year 4 have been on a walk to Hanley Park to explore the different trees in our local area as part of our science topic. The children collected a variety of leaves, which they will classify in their next lesson. The children had a great time collecting as many different leaves as they could! There are more photos in our photo album.

In Computing this week, Year 4 have been investigating the internet and learning more about how it works. Using iPads, they explored a variety of websites to discover information, practise their search skills, and think about how the internet helps us find what we need. More photos are in our photo album.
