Music Intent Statement
In Music, everyone has a voice! During their learning, children develop their musical skills, by performing in front of others, listening to a range of music and composing using instruments as well as their voices. The curriculum is delivered through standalone lessons, other foundation subjects and Collective Worship. At St Mark’s, we appreciate a wide variety of Music from various genres and other cultures, which enables the children to develop their musical aspirations. Our curriculum, which is supported by experts from the City Music Service, is progressive from Nursery to Year 6 and is built upon year on year to provide firm foundations for Music taught in Key Stage 3. Our ability to express ourselves uniquely is made possible by Music.
